NPA 4 & 5
National Progression Award, level 4 & level 5
Tailored for secondary school students, NPA (National Progression Award) Level 4 & 5 is designed to provide an introduction to knowledge, understanding and skills in dance and provides students with the opportunity to develop their dance skills in a professional environment. Students on this course will come and train in our state of the art facilities at PASS and learn from our highly experienced lecturing staff in jazz and contemporary dance techniques as well as gaining choreographic skills.
For successful applicants, the NPA course runs in partnership with schools and at the end of the year students recieve a certificate and a qualification from completing the course.
If you are a young, aspiring dancer who is still in secondary education and want to take their dance skills to the next level, then this is the course for you!
COURSE CONTENT/ STRUCTURE
Students on the NPA course will receive:
Classes in jazz and contemporary dance techniques to further develop their skills and knowledge.
Choreography - students will participate in choreography classes where they will gain the skills and knowledge on how to devise and create pieces of their own work.
Dance History - students will begin to delve deeper into the history of dance and where the core techniques of ballet, contemporary and jazz arise from.
