Ethelinda is currently a dance lecturer at Edinburgh College. In 2011 she gained her MA in Dance Theatre Practice at Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts accredited by John Moors University. Her research area was looking at the benefits of Pilates to support Contemporary Dance Technique. She is now embarking on a Doctorate in Education with the primary focus on Collaborative Learning, Pedagogy, Policy and Practice and lifelong learning.
Ethelinda has a wide range of teaching and choreographic experience in dance and has worked with some of Scotland’s prominent directors. 2015 saw her collaborating with A Blank Canvass and Jubidi Theatre working on ‘In Her Shadows’ an Aerial Dance piece based on the theme of Mental Health.
Ethelinda Lashley is a fully qualified Pilates teacher and gained her qualification through the Pilates Foundation in 2001, she is currently the director of The Pilates Room Edinburgh. She has recently gained a qualification in Air Control Pilates.
Ethelinda was invited to serve on the Pilates Foundation Board of Management in January 2016 and feels very privileged to serve the board and will endeavour to bring her years of teaching experience in the educational sector to support the Pilates Foundation Professional Standards Committee.
